The 2008 World Conference on Quality and Improvement
MN Section receives award
The 2008 World Conference on Quality and Improvement (WCQI) was held in Houston on May 3-7 and was a big success for a variety of reasons. More than 2200 people from all over the world attended this conference which focused on customer service and the new ASQ processes to be rolled out in the coming years. Emphasis on the worldwide activities of quality were reinforced by special health care tracks, a Spanish language insert into the program and talks that emphasized emerging economies.
MN Section Receives Total Quality Award for 2006-07 Year
Also, the Minnesota Section was honored for achieving the Total Quality Award for the 2006-07 fiscal year. In addition, the Minnesota Section earned the Bronze level award in the Excellence category. The Total Quality Award is one of the highest levels of achievement in SMP. Sections earning this award demonstrated their dedication and commitment by developing a business plan that provided valuable quality programs and services to their members and achieved at least 75% of their objectives.

Another key activity was preparation for the WCQI in 2009 which will be at the Minneapolis Convention Center, May 18-20. We will be looking for volunteers who can help as room monitors and information people. Volunteer to work eight hours and attend the conference FREE! Please contact the following to volunteer:
