Chair’s Night, May 13, 2008
Chair’s Night was held on Tuesday, May 13 at the Minnesota Room of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. Well more than a dozen chefs-in-training plied their skills under the watchful eye of a chef instuctor. The dinner met all the expectations of a fine dining ecperience! The courses were comprised of a sea scallop appetizer, French carrot soup infused with smoked pork, pan roasted chicken breast and for dessert, baked chocolate mousse cake with raspberry sauce.
Le Cordon Bleu offers a combination of classic French tradition and American technologies. Since its founding in 1895, it has enjoyed a worldwide reputation for delivering a quality culinary arts education. We are fortunate to have one of the few culinary institutions in America to offer this prestigious training.
After the 4-course dinner, Greg Olson, Section Chair, spoke briefly about the highlights of the past year, and then presented the new Chair’s gavel to the Incoming Chair, Annette Borrelli. Annette, in turn, gave the Chairman’s plaque to Greg.
Attendance awards were given to the following people who attended at least 7 programs during the year: John Buschette, Brian Colvin, Keith Donaldson, Sue Donaldson, Brad Gapp, Terr Havener, Mary Ann Kaufman, Mavonne Prokop and Mary Scharber. Congratulations to these people!
The highlight of the program was the presentation of the prestigious Chair’s Award to Ashweni Sahni for his extraordinary service to the Section over the years. Congratulations to Ashweni for a well-deserved award!
